Small-Town Living Never Looked Better

Wendell might be small, what it lacks in size it more than makes up for in charm. Stroll down the historic main street, and you'll feel as if you've taken a step back in time. The brick front of the local hardware store, the green awning jutting out from the barber shop, the small lampposts lighting the way down the sidewalk—it's small town bliss.

Of course, if you ever crave the hustle and bustle of the big city, Downtown Raleigh is just 20 miles away, but thanks to the area's growing population, you'll likely find everything you need within a few minutes of town. Think Wendell might be the perfect place for your new home? Browse what's on the market, and call the DASH Team when you're ready to get started!

Live, Work & Play

Wendell takes small-town charm to another level. That's why the town's motto is "Small Town, Big Charm!" The entire downtown districted is listed on the National Register of Historic Places, but it's far from stuck in the past—free town-wide Wi-Fi is just one of the many modern updates in the area.

While there are several options for work around Wendell, many residents choose to make the commute into the Raleigh area. Around town, the major employers are Kioti Tractor, Siemens, and Micro-Measurements Group Inc, while closer to the city you'll find options like the State of North Carolina and the Wake County Public School System.

Want to grab an after-work drink? Head to Wine and Beer 101 to try a local brew from Trophy, Lynnwood, or Nickelpoint. Need a little time in the Great Outdoors? Explore the 85 acres of paddling at Robertson Millpond Preserve. The community may be small, but it certainly isn't lacking in things to do!

October brings the Halloween Treat Trail and Harvest Festival, and in December, Downtown Wendell turns into a winter wonderland. Of course, there's also the farmers' market on the weekends, Meet on Main, and tons of other events to check out.

Stunning Outdoor Recreation

Want to explore the Great Outdoors? Wendell's location makes it easy. The most popular park in the area is likely Robertson Millpond Reserve, which offers visitors a trip on either canoes or kayaks along the winding waterway. Other nearby outdoor recreation includes the scenic trails of Turnipseed Nature Preserve, the wide-open green space of the Wendell Dog Park, and the fields and courts offered by Wendell Parks and Recreation

Local Shopping & Dining

Although you won't find many big-name retailers within the community, there are tons of locally owned stores that fill the streets of Downtown! The Wendell General Store has everything from hot sauce to ice cream, Seconds 4 Less Thrift Boutique is filled with second-hand and vintage wares, and Wine and Beer 101 boasts the best local brews. Top-Ranked Public Schools

Wendell is served by the Wake County Public School System, which boasts a reputation as one of the top districts in the state.
